WHAT DOES AN ENAMEL PLANT DO?
Porcelain enamel production is bred into our industrial DNA
Our enamel plant is all about history and innovation
Our founder was driven by the desire to innovate and the ability to intuitively follow market signals. The entrepreneurial new generation that leads the company still upholds these principles. The enamelling plant offers enamelling services using efficient and environmentally-friendly systems.
Made in Italy
Smalterie Vicentine is one of the very few businesses on the Italian market that is able to carry out the entire enamelling process in-house. Since it was founded in 1958 by Enrico Dall’Orto, the enamelling workshop has forged a strong bond with the local area.
A reliable partner
The enamelling workshop is a valuable part of the supply chain. Extreme organisational flexibility and outstanding technical knowledge make Smalterie Vicentine a reliable partner for the manufacture of Italian porcelain enamel products for various applications.
Values and environment
Rigour and quality are the keywords identifying the company strategy and value system. The enamel workshop is respectful of environmental issues and the impact of its production activities on the local area. It is aware of the importance of human capital and the role of corporate social responsibility.
Innovation, safety, legality.
We are committed to protecting the environment.
PORCELAIN ENAMEL
An inorganic, vitreous coating with protective and aesthetic functions.
After application, vitrification firing is carried out at a very high temperature. This process develops chemical and physical reactions between the two surfaces, creating a new material that combines the characteristics of glass (hygiene and hardness) with those of the backing. In the case of metal, these include strength, ductility and lightness.
Rarely has the combination of two such different materials produced such outstanding and versatile results in terms of good looks and performance.
THE STRENGTH OF GLASS COMBINED WITH METAL
Hygienic/Non-toxic/M.O.C.A. certified / Corrosion-proof / Abrasion-proof / Resistant to high temperatures / Easy to clean / Very durable / Resistant to atmospheric agents / Resistant to oxidation
Composition
The chemical composition of the enamel varies depending on the substrate and the properties to be enhanced in the final product. The result is an inert substance that does not absorb liquids or volatile substances and does not release harmful substances.

PRODUCTION
The new production system relies on a high degree of automation
The enamelling process is carried up with water or water-dispersed enamels. This brings obvious benefits for the working environment because no chemical solvents are used. The process is carried out using the latest generation of plants that optimise the production process while offering considerable flexibility. The company uses five very high performing powder application plants to handle the many product shapes and sizes and a wide range of colours.
For wet application, i.e. when enamel is dispersed in an aqueous medium, the enamelling plant is equipped with an immersion plant that can enamel the most complex shapes in the most varied colours, and two electrostatic application plants (wet plants). This production system features a high degree of automation. It uses robots that allow very uniform enamel application, which considerably improves the appearance of the enamelled product.

COLOUR
Smalterie Vicentine can apply any type of colour combination its customers may request and can (on request) offer one of the broadest ranges of colour available on the market.
SCREENPRINTING
We can apply logos or labels with inorganic ink screen-printing. The chemical nature of this material, similar to that of enamel, allows us to incorporate the customisation in the final product, while guaranteeing the same chemical and physical properties.
DECALS
The enamelled product can also be decorated with decals, using a technique that is particularly suitable for curved and three-dimensional surfaces, because of the excellent flexibility and versatility of the process.
PACKAGING
The finished products can be processed and shipped with custom packaging, in compliance with the Customer’s specifications.
